German Day 2014
Almost 200 USF German students and area high school students studying German, as well as their teachers, attended "German Day," organized by the German section of WLE. The event was sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany as part of their "Campus Weeks - Germany in Europe" campaign. Students of German presented poems and posters and competed for prizes. USF faculty presented talks on European and German issues. Click here to see pictures from the event.

At the conclusion of the Maria Zambrano Conference, Cuban Artist Baruj Salinas presented Dr. Madeline Camara and Dr. Stephan K. Schindler with a gift for the “Aula Maria Zambrano.” The painting is part of the cycle “Claros del Bosque” and will be placed in the Aula.

3rd International Maria Zambrano Forum - Between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean
The 3rd International Forum designed to highlight key moments in the life of Spanish writer and philosopher Maria Zambrano (1904 - 1991). This forum, initiated by the Fundacion Maria Zambrano in Spain was presented in the United States for the first time. The goal of the Forum was to create an intellectual space for dialogue among scholars on both sides of the Atlantic. Sessions were open to students, faculty, and community members. International Symposium New World, Other Encounters. USF World Languages was well represented at this international symposium in Torremolinos, Spain with the participation of our own faculty (Professors Carlos Cano, Madeline Camara, and Alejandro de la Pava) and graduate students (Kathryn Bechtelheimer and Andria Arnold).
