Dr. Stefan Huber, a native German, studied German linguistics and Latin at the University of Lund, Sweden. He received his PhD in 2002, defending a thesis on the syntax and information structure of cleft constructions in German and Swedish (Es-Clefts und det-Clefts. Zur Syntax, Semantik und Informationsstruktur von Spalts├Ątzen im Deutschen und Schwedischen). In 2005, he joined USF, where he became a full-time instructor in 2010.

Dr. Huber’s research interests mostly concern the linguistic form and function of rather complex structures in Germanic languages, such as relative clauses, correlative structures, and comparatives. He is also the founder and main organizer of the “Annual Tampa Workshop in Linguistics” (TAW), as well as the founder and co-editor of the online journal “Tampa Papers in Linguistics” (TPL).

In his spare time, Dr. Huber is an avid tournament Scrabble player.
