En Línea:
A Program of Online Instruction
with On Campus Testing for Spanish I and Spanish II
The following guidelines will help you decide whether or not the En
Línea option is the right one for you.
- To take En Línea, you must have an updated computer that
is capable of
running Internet Explorer 5 or higher. You should also be familiar with
using a computer and accessing course material online. A high
speed
Internet connection is recommended.
- En Línea is not a completely online Spanish program.
You will complete
all of your assignments online, but you must come to
campus (Tampa) for a
mandatory orientation session and four mandatory face-to-face (FTF)
exams.
- There will be a mandatory initial orientation meeting on the
Tampa campus.
- There are four optional review sessions held on campus; there
are also four online review sessions.
- There are four reequired examinations which take place on the
Tampa campus.
- If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be dropped
from the course. There are no
exceptions to this policy.
- If you did not take En Línea I through the Tampa campus,
you cannot take En Línea II. You must continue with a
traditional Spanish II course or the program with which you started
taking Spanish. There are no exceptions to this policy.
To obtain a permit for En
Línea (Spanish I or Spanish II) please download and complete the
following form. Save the filled out form and send it as a file
attachment to the En Línea instructor, Carla Zayas Santiago at czayassa@usf.edu
